Several local bands came together on February 20, 1999 to hold a concert honoring one of their own -- Daniel Ludwig, former Saugus High School student (and local bass player) who had heroically saved his younger sister from drowning but tragically gave his own life in the process during the Summer of '98. All proceeds from the event were donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in Daniel Ludwig's name.
The evening started off at about half past six with Drift playing Get Down Tonight, Rappers' Delight, and more.

Next came Durge, who performed some original material in addition to covers Stinkfist and Faith.

They also sold some T-shirts and copies of their CD On the Warpath with the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The concert ended a little after 10:30. All in all, it was
a good evening of music for a great cause.
Special thanks also go out to the local band Akita (Mark & Debbie Panetta, Kevin Quinlen, and Henry Tablada) who provided the PA system and donated their time to both do all the mixing and help with the chaperoning. The concert never would have happened (let alone gone as smoothly) without their expertise and equipment. Likewise, special thanks goes out to Reverend Roger Nelson and the St. John's Episcopal Church for having the generosity and tolerance to host a benefit rock concert. Thanks are also due to G.B.A., Inc. for paying for the lighting, Ryan "Ace" Brown for his chaperoning and manning of the ticket booth, Lindsey Berry for her manning of the ticket booth, Darren Brown & Eric Brown for chaperoning, and Dunkin Donuts for providing a free end-of-concert donut snack.
