Traditional Native songs and stories will add an atmosphere of the 1750 era Northeast Woodlands to Breakheart Reservation?s Maple Sugarin? as Material Culture Presenter Jennifer Lee portrays an Algonkian woman in an eighteen foot diameter eastern conical wigwam equipped with the needs of daily life at the time. This program is sponsored by individual contributions to the Urban Park Trust Fund. Next, Tour the History Section, Tree Identification activity, Tap a Maple, watch the Evaporator at work in the Sugar Shack, and best of all, Taste the Results! A $4 admission will directly support the Friends of Breakheart?s purchase of the equipment you will see in action.
