Public Meeting Regarding Expansion of Saugus Ash Landfill | ||||

On November 1, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) issues a Provisional Decision that would allow Wheelabrator Saugus to dispose an additional estimated 400,000 cubic yards of contaminated ash adjacent to the Rumney Marsh Area of Critical Environmental Concern.
A public hearing will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, 6:30 PM at the Saugus High School Auditorium, 1 Pierce Memorial Drive in Saugus. Members of the public who are concerned about this expansion are urged to attend the public hearing and submit written comments to DEP to voice their concerns.
Written comments on teh draft decision must be received on or before 5:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2017.
