We've been given word that Saugus resident Carolyn Brown will be this year's Rheumatoid Arthritis Walk Adult Ambassador. The walk will be on May 17^th, and we'll post a bit more information about it as it gets closer.

We've gotten word from the U.S. Census Bureau that up through July of 2009, U.S. Census employees will be visiting every housing unit in every neighborhood of Saugus in preparation for the 2010 census. They write:

In order to conduct the 2010 Decennial Census, the Census Bureau must know the address and physical location of each place where people live or stay. Our Census employees will wear official identification and carry hand-held computers to capture physical addresses and their GPS coordinates.

The office will be closed today for the holiday. However, the Community Events Calendar, Yard Sale Calendar, and other like pages will continue to be updated.

The first yard sale of the year has been posted. Please feel free to post more.

The Saugus Area Non-Profit Organizations, Clubs, and Places of Worship page was updated today.

This is just a reminder that personal state and federal tax returns must be postmarked by the end of the day today.

Way back in 2001 we posted some pictures taken of patriotic flag displays around town. At the time we stated that if anyone flew a Gadsden flag, we'd update the page with a photograph of it. Now eight years later we're doing just that.
