The office will be closed today in honor of Presidents' Day. However, work on the Saugus.net upgrades will continue in the background. We'll keep posting updates here over the next couple of weeks as work progresses.

Some of the old Saugus.net hardware was dismantled this morning in the early AM. We will be starting the second phase of the overall system upgrade shortly -- the first part was hardware, the second part is software. These upgrades will help contribute to a faster, more modern Saugus.net.

The Saugus Board of Selectmen asked us to inform everyone that they're accepting applications for a variety of volunteer / non-paid positions including member of the Saugus Zoning Board of Appeals, member of the Saugus Library Board of Trustees, and member of the Saugus Cultural Arts Council. Saugus residents who are interested in any of these positions may submit a letter of interest and résumé to:

Highlights of last night's special Saugus Town Meeting include the passing of every article put before it including the funding for the police contract and money to replace the heating systems in both the middle and high schools.
