The Cliftondale Congregational Church Yard Sale features tools, clothes toys cookware luggage, collectibles, TVs, dog kennel, fish tank, sporting goods, typewrtiters, toasters, books, furniture, and many other items, rain or shine, in the church gym.

Registration is between 7:00 and 9:00 AM, and the walk starts and ends at the Boston Common but meanders throughout Boston, Cambridge, Newton, Brookline, and Watertown.

The Saugus Historical Commission Meeting will be at 6:30 PM in the Local History Room of the Saugus Public Library.

Join us at Breakheart as we plant a new grove of sugar maples with the help of the Saugus Tree Committee. We'll do the digging, you can cheer us on! There will be wood cutting exhibitions, "tree talk" with the rangers and free tree seedlings to the first two hundred children who attend.

There will be a Special Election in Saugus today at all the normal poll locations.

The Sisterhood of Congregation Ahavas Sholom will hold their 39th annual Donor Dinner at the Continental Restaurant on Tuesday evening, May 11, at 5:30 p.m.

Saugus Historical Society business issues will be discussed. Interested members of the general public are welcome.

The Saugus Housing Authority Meeting will be at 6:00 PM in the Heritage Heights Conference Room.

Guest speaker will be William J. Deane, President of the Massachusetts Aviation Historical Society. He'll be dicsussing "Early Aviation at the old Saugus Flying Field".

Please join The Asian Task Force Against Domestic Violence at the Business Women's Breakfast on Thursday, May 13th from 8:00 to 9:30am at The Tremont Boston. Featured guests include Mary Chung Hayashi, founder of the National Asian Women's Health Organization, and Dr. Howard Koh, associate dean and professor at the Harvard School of Public Health. This breakfast will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the domestic violence prevention efforts of the Asian Task Force. Tickets $50. Press Release: For Immediate Release Contact: Phone # (781) 231-5988 Laura Eisener TREE LECTURE May 20 Designing With Trees will be the topic of a slide lecture sponsored by the Town of Saugus Tree Committee on Thursday, May 20 at 7 PM in the Saugus Town Hall Auditorium. Laura Eisener, Massachusetts editor of People Places and Plants Magazine will give suggestions on how to use trees to enhance your landscape. Do you need some shade or screening in your garden? Summer color or sculptural winter forms? What kind of maintenance will your new tree need? Come with your questions and get some ideas to improve your landscape! The Tree Committee, with the help of other volunteers, maintains the tree farm near Saugus Center where saplings are raised to become public trees. A tree from the Saugus Tree Farm will be raffled off. Refreshments will be supplied by Saugus Action Volunteers For the Environment. Tickets are $8.00 each and will be available at the door. Proceeds will be used to improve Saugus Community trees.

The event will feature: A Huge Craft Fair featuring talented New England artisans, Kid's Crafts, and Games, a DJ, Moon Bounce, and a Giant Slide. There will also be a BBQ with Hamburgers, Hot dogs, and Corn on the cob. Other treats will include Cotton Candy, Kettle corn, Nachos, and Slush.

On Saturday, May 22, 2004 from 9am-5pm the Dockside Restaurants will host a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at the Wakefield High School Fieldhouse. The proceeds of this event will benefit the Center for Performing Arts Project and the local Citizens Scholarship Foundation. The tournament will consist of a High School and Adult Division for both men and women. All participants that register early will receive a free t-shirt. Registration for a team of 3 players is $50 and for a team of 4 players is $60. 1st place cash prizes for each adult division is $250 and 1st place for each high school division is $150. An awards ceremony and complimentary buffet will be held for participants following each division?s championship game. Registration forms are available at any Dockside Restaurant location. Join us on May 23 at 10AM for Walk With Me, our 5K Awareness stroll along the Charles at Artesani Park on Soldier?s Field Rd. in Boston. There will be food and fun for the entire family as everyone joins our Walk Ambassadors, as well as honorary chairpersons Steve Grogan and the father-son marathon duo of Dick & Rick Hoyt, in raising funds for Easter Seals. Afterwards, enjoy the music, lunch and the chance to mingle with our many supporters, celebrities and friends. There will also be raffles and plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy.
