Pictures of some of the winners from our fifth annual Halloween Ghost Story Contest are now online.

Saugus Special Town Meeting highlights include the passing of a pair of articles that transfers the authority of Cemetery Commissioner appointment from the Town Manager to the Selectmen, an article that requests that the Selectmen follow the guidelines of the Manual on Traffic Control Devices when considering the installation of new traffic control devices, an article that prohibits people from licensing more than three dogs, and articles creating a committee to investigate the Saugus parking / car storage regulations (and suggest possible improvements) and a committee to investigate the feasibility of maintaining and/or restoring the former police and fire station located on Taylor Street. No financial articles were discussed as the Finance Committee is still collecting financial data from various sources.

The local business Giggles Comedy has had its web site updated today.

The Saugus Historical Society site was updated today.

The office will be closed today in observance of the holiday; pages like the Community Events Calendar will continue to be updated, and e-mail will continue to be read, however.

The Saugus High School Alumni Association site was updated today.

On an unrelated note, we've been having phone difficulties this afternoon; it's not clear if water is getting into some of the wires or if a branch took down something or what, but calling our main phone line seems to just result in getting a busy signal (however our FAX line is unaffected). If you're trying to get through to us this afternoon, your best bet is e-mail or FAX.

All the detailed results of yesterday's election are now online.

We've started posting election results. We'll be adding to them as we get more results -- at the moment the listings are pretty sparse; they should all be in by sometime tomorrow though.
